Keep dreaming. A week of fun. Keep coming

Keep dreaming

“Tell ‘em about the dream, Martin!”

Dreams drive so much of our lives. Dreams are amazing, they paint pictures, they can give us hope. Dreams can cause joy and they can introduce pain. But dreams are always just that if there is no action involved. I am so happy that the dreams of one man, Reverend Dr Martin Luther King Jr, came true. I am proud to live in a country where the friends I have and people I have just met, judge me by the content of my character.

Keep dreaming, but follow those dreams with action like MLK was willing to do. Get people around you that will encourage you to tell others about your dreams. Enjoy your MLK day and take a moment to remember and dream.

The story behind the "I Have A Dream" speech

A week of fun

Wow you guys really showed up in a big way. We had over 30 new people come through these doors this week for our “Bring A Friend week”. While not all of them will stay, I think we have made a really positive impact on people's lives. I am so glad that their new experience with CrossFit might have changed their perspective on what it is that we do.

For those of you now reading this as a brand new athlete (member) at our gym, welcome! So excited for the many of you that decided to make this gym and our gym community a part of your fitness journey. To take a look at old newsletters that we have shared go to our
website blog to get up to speed.

Our first gymnastics seminar as Trial Built went so well. 25 people showed up and it was a smashing success. People learned some incredible body control and abilities they didn't know they had. Can’t wait for the next one.

Keep coming

Bre and I have never been the same since that first video we saw
Annie Sakamoto doing CrossFit while pregnant 11 years ago. This was a pivotal moment for us. It was a moment we had no idea would change us forever. This 43 second video would cause the trajectory of our lives to forever alter. Some of you don't even realize that you are on that life changing path. Where fitness has or is becoming your lifestyle and not just something you do.

You are coming into a place where you make choices based on getting to Trial Built the next day. I know you have made decisions like, “sorry I can’t go see that midnight showing of Aquaman 2 because I have 5 AM class tomorrow.” Jason Mamoa, you turned down Jason Mamoa for CrossFit?!?!? I’m proud of you.

It’s decisions like these that really shape us forever. These are the kinds of decisions that some of the most successful people in the world have made and continue to make. You are in a special class of people that puts their health ahead of leisure, or comfort. You are building towards something that is special. Something that gives you a new lease on life. Something that will allow you to be 70 and out deadlift a 30 year old.

Jason can wait, but your fitness can’t. So keep inviting those friends, the ones that went to see that movie at midnight. The ones that would rather stay at home. Keep showing up yourself with or without them. But keep being the shining example that you have already become.

Referral

As a rule of thumb people generally enjoy doing things together with their friends. I know this and you know this to be true. So that being said we want to continue making an environment where you can invite people into this part of your life. For so many of us CrossFit is one of those things that has and will change us forever.

When you invite a friend, tell them to let us know who invited them. Or better yet give them one of our business cards and write your name on it. Then when they come in and sign up for a membership we will give you $50. We want more people like you. We want you and your friends to have an extra incentive to show up time and time again.

Who can you invite?

Law Enforcement Officers

So many of you that are officers know that we love you. We honor you. Thank you for being side by side with us as we come alongside you. You put your lives on the line for us everyday. As we have seen even with the death of a young officer in Oakland. So many of our members here were directly affected by this tragedy and want you all to know that we care for you. Thank you for always serving with so much humility. Thanks isn’t enough.
