Keep Building
What does it mean to you?
I view keep building as more than just two words. It boasts of something larger. When times get tough, what do you do? Keep Building. When you want to gain strength. Keep Building. Don’t have a pull-up yet? Keep Building. Lost your job? Keep Building. When everything is going right. Keep Building.
Why should I Keep Building? It doesn’t seem necessary if everything is going right. But that’s exactly when we should keep digging in and moving forward. It’s easier for a snowball to get bigger if it’s rolling down hill. What if the snowball is being pushed up the hill? What if things aren’t going well? Should I just give up because it’s too hard? No. That’s when you ask for help. Even in your fitness journey, having people come around you is huge. It helps you to build that snowball.
I love when people come alongside me. Mary, the other night, was encouraging me and others during the 6:30 class. Melinda was staring me down on Saturday, basically causing me to not want to fail in front of her. Haha.
Be that person for other people. I have found that stepping out and helping people when I am feeling great helps me to feel even better because I am serving someone else. When I might be feeling low, helping others often does the same in helping me feel better. I’m sure you’ve heard it said.
“Be the change you want to see in this world.”
What can be built? Anything. I would rather be a person that builds others up than one that tears them down. I would rather build my strength and skills than look for a quick fix because the journey is more valuable than the destination. I want to build my family, my future, my relationships.
So to me, Keep Building means so much more than just the practical and physical side of things. Once again, what does Keep Building mean to you?
Thanksgiving - Turkey Ruck
The ruck was a huge success. No one died. I think no one stepped on any dog poo either. Thanks to everyone that was able to make it. And to those that couldn't you were missed. It was so cool to have people invite their friends and family to join in on the hike. Just beautiful. I am excited to do this again next year.
Keep building,
