How to handle Thanksgiving

Should I write an article about what you should and shouldn't do during your thanksgiving meal? What do you think? Is that something you want to hear again for the 18th time? I don't think so. So here is what I will do instead.

I will encourage you to treat your body. Treat your body to something out of the norm. Treat your body to a day of reduced stress. Treat your body to a time of actual thanksgiving. Here is what I am going to do. I am going to wake up later than normal… probably with the sun as my alarm clock, I am going to take a nice warm shower, sit with my kids for a bit and then we are all going to load up in the truck and head over to Lagoon Valley and ruck with you guys for our Turkey Ruck. Then I will head home and get ready for a fun day of cooking. I don't say that facetiously I actually enjoy cooking and serving others. And you know what I won't do? I wont worry about work. I wont worry about politics. I will only be thankful for the time I get with my parents, and my family. I will choose to be thankful for the things I have in my life.

If I happen to eat a little extra food then so be it. If I happen to have a delicious dessert, good. I won't let it stress out my body. I am excited for this time. I am excited for the amazing privileges that have been awarded to us as Americans. I want to remain thankful for the amazing things that have happened for the Cooper family in 2023. I am thankful for you. Thankful that you have chosen us to lead you in your fitness journey. Thankful that you are a part of our growing gym family.

How are you going to approach your thanksgiving? Are you going to stress about doing it all right? Are you going to be excited? Is your family tough during these times? Is there any way that you can reduce the headache? My heart goes out to you if this is a hard season due to loss of family or past family hurt. If that's the case, know that you are worth it. And know that you are loved.

Keep building,

James and Bre Cooper
